Jersey Weekend

Sunday 13 September 2015

I recently went for a mini weekend away in Jersey. I had such a fantastic time! We stayed at The Savoy which was a very posh hotel  and as we were guests we had breakfast included in our stay. There was an array of fruit, cold meats and pastries and many mini pots of spreads and then you could order a cooked breakfast once you were sat down. We got into such a routine we'd have our pastries first ( I must say I miss having a croissant with nutella in a morning) then we'd order out cooked breakfast. The service was excellent and the food was lovely.
I get very excited about the food.
We only had two full days so we tried to make the most of these while there we went and saw the underground hospital from WW2 I found this to be incredibly fascinating and quite shocking to see what the people in Jersey went through during the world war. Made me feel incredibly grateful for the life I have and the amazing men that fought for us to have the life we have now.
We also went and visited Durrell zoo - I love visiting zoos of any kind getting to see wild animals up close. The basis of this zoo was about protecting endangered species and the proceeds from ticket sales went back into helping the animals.
We also went to something called living legend in Jersey which while being good for young children probably isn't as fun for two girls in their early twenties. The main basis for it was crazy golf and go karting, the golf was fun as who doesn't love crazy golf? However it rained and the go karting was cancelled so it felt abit of a wasted trip - especially when we realised we could have gone to France for the day!!
On out final day as we didn't have a full day we went on a morning your round the isle which had some beautiful views and scenery. We got some background information on Jersey and had a photo stop at the closest point to France (you could see the coastline in the distance) after this we went to the beach as the weather was lovely!
Then it was home time all in all it was a fun weekend with lots of interesting memories to say the least and I came back feeling incredibly refreshed the sea air must've agreed with me.

Mini Weekend Away Packing Tips

Monday 17 August 2015

I will be heading to Jersey for a mini weekend away shortly. For this holiday we only have 10kg of hand luggage.
Surely that should be enough for a three night stay?
However I am a terrible overpacker I always pack too much and prepare for every eventuality rain, sun, a freak snow blizzard...

I am trying to learn the error of my ways and pack more sensibly so here are a few tips for packing everything you need into your hand luggage:

1. Wear your heavy clothes on the plane jeans, trainers etc.

2. Roll your clothes up so they take up less room.

3. Most hotels supply shampoos and conditioner etc so why take it with you? Especially as the hand luggage has a liquids limit. Worst comes to worst you'll have to buy some shampoo while you're there.

4. Minimal make up is the best. You're going on holiday do you really need a full face of make up? Take the minimum you need for going out on an evening. Saves on your liquid allowance and any heavy bottles.

5. Plan outfits in advance. Take different tops and the same bottoms so you can switch up outfit. Take a few different necklaces to accessorise.

6. You only need the basics a pair of jeans, a pair if shorts and a few tops. Two pairs of shoes and that's that.

7. Make sure you don't use all your weight allowance in case you want to buy a few things.

Those are my packing tips. Comment any other tips you may have.

Note the above cases aren't mine saw them on Google images they are such cute colours!

My American Adventure

Wednesday 1 July 2015

As you know from a few of my previous posts I have recently been on holiday to California. Going to America on holiday has always been a dream of mine and I have to say the holiday itself did not disappoint!!

We opted to do a 2 and a bit week tour around California through Titan tours and I have to say it exceeded my expectations there was so much included everyday, the hotels were fantastic and everything went to plan.
A few of the places we visited were:
- San Diego
- Palm Springs
- Las Vegas
- San Francisco
- Anaheim
- Los Angeles
- Arizona
- Scottsdale
- Flagstaff
- Calico
- Santa Barbara
- Sedona

We had a lot of trips included some examples being the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park and a tour of Warner Brothers Studios.
We were also very lucky that our hotel in Anaheim had a shuttle bus direct to Disneyland! The big kid inside of me was so excited by this not going was most definitely not an option!!

I'm not a big fan of theme parks but Disneyland most definitely had something for everyone rides, you could take photos with the princesses and an amazing fireworks display at the end of the evening with the characters creating a show.
This most definitely was the holiday of a lifetime and though I was exhausted I would do it all again in a heartbeat. The one thing we didn't get to do was book to visit Alcatraz (there's my excuse to go back!)
So it would appear I've added more than a few there were just too many to choose from!! It's going to be hard to beat this holiday that is for sure! I feel so blessed to have had such a fantastic experience!
Comment and let me know what your dream holiday would be.

Haul Post

Saturday 2 May 2015

Hey There,

I'm sorry my blog posts have been so slack recently I have been preparing for my upcoming holiday.
One thing that I have learnt is that holidays are STRESSFUL there's so much you have to do/think about.
I'm almost completely sorted now which means I'm finally starting to relax so I figured I'd do a nice blog post to ease myself back into writing.

I'm going to post my most recent haul of some essentials for my holiday:

All of this haul bar the adidas trainers is from Primark and this is what I got:
- A new little handbag with lots of pockets.
- A new purse - this is probably my favourite item in the haul! I'm quite bad in that I never use purses for my money but I figure for a holiday abroad this will be a necessity and this little purse from Primary is so cute!!
- A blue patterned crop top.
- A large blue/grey patterned scarf - this will be a good light item for holiday to use to cover up if its too warm. I get sunburnt so easily curse pale skin!
- Dark red pair of dolly shoes - these are great and come in so many different colours.
- Finally the pink/purple adidas trainers - I literally fell in love with these and had to have them probably the most expensive trainers I've ever bought!

As you can see blue seems to be the colour im leaning towards at the moment. So that's my haul for my holiday so far. I promise to post more now that I've got myself organised and have more time!

Feel free to leave a comment telling me some of your holiday essentials.

Update Time

Thursday 9 April 2015

Hey all,

Sorry its been so long!! I have seriously been lacking on the blog front recently.

I'd say it's because I have been busy which I have but at the same time I have also been incredibly lazy!
A lot has been going on in the last week I had my birthday now 22 (getting old!), a mini break which involved me getting lost and having a scenic drive through Leek and even a few nights out.

This for me is busy as my weekends normally consist of watching TV series back to back.

I had a lovely day on my birthday went to Birmingham haven't been shopping there in ages!!! Spent rather a lot ended up with a lovely body mist from Victoria's Secret it's called Eau So Sexy! and it smells amazing!! I'm using it as a perfume and it lasts for agessss!

Went to Derbyshire for the mini break which mainly consisted of me sitting in reading but I knocked a couple of books off my Reading list. These were:

An Abundance of Katherines by John Green - Not my favourite of his books but I still enjoyed it had all the same wit and charm that his novels usually have.
The Selection by Kiera Cass - I really enjoyed this book it was girly but not over the top lovey dovey and again had a lot of charm. The main characters were all likeable and I practically read it in a day.

Finally I began reading Shopaholic to the Stars by Sophie Kinsella - I already know I am going to like this book I own every book Sophie Kinsella has written and they are all just as funny as the last.

So here is my long overdue update. I also see my blog has been getting loads of views from Russia I find it amazing and appreciate it so much that so many people from all over the world are reading my random rambling posts. I promise to start posting more again.

Bye for now :)
