Belated May Favourites

Sunday 12 June 2016

A rather belated May favourites here. I would like to say it's because I have been busy but honestly I haven't had any motivation to write. As blogging is something I enjoy I did not want to force myself into writing blogs when I just have not felt like it.

On with the post! Here are my favourite things from the month of May. Mostly make-up - I have definitely had a bit of a splurge.

Jeffree Star Ice Cold Skin Frost - I may have received this product in early June but after one use I couldn't not add it in my favourites. This product is stunning, I have it in the shade Ice Cold and it glides on like a dream! As you can see the pan is massive for I think it was $29 this is going to last me ages! A little really goes a long way! I always feel with Jeffree Star products that he tries to make his products suitable for all skin tones and his makeup is becoming one of my favourite brands!

Urban Decay 8 Hour Afterglow Highlighter - I bought this product in the shade Aura. The colour is an ethereal lilac shade and looks so natural on pale skin. It is a very unusual but subtle highlight with a lot of pigment! Urban Decay have really been ticking all the boxes with there Summer Collection with both packaging and product being amazing!

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick Scorpio - This colour was darker than I expected (probably due to my skin being extremely pale) non-the-less the product is so creamy and one swipe is literally all you need to coat your lips. It lasts literally all day and the colour is really pigmented. The shade I would describe as being a dark purple-grey on my lips. Perfect if you're going for a dramatic lip look.

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick Unicorn Blood - Again being from the same brand this product has the same quality as the Scorpio shade. Although I think this shade is supposed to smell like root beer? I can definitely smell a hint of something. The colour of this is a vampy dark red - possibly my go to lip colour! Again perfect for that statement lip.

Kylie Cosmetics Kylie Lip Kit Posie K - I ummed and ahhed about buying this for months and months. After hearing all the stories of bad customer service and orders going missing. Eventually I took the plunge and ordered this keeping my fingers and toes crossed. Thankfully the order arrived and it was exactly what I wanted. I opted for the shade Posie K I'm not a fan of bright in your face pink shades and from all the photos online this one looked a bit more subtle. I was not disappointed this is the perfect mauvey-pink shade, the lipliner glides on so smoothly and you only need one swipe of the liquid lipstick on top. It dries matte but doesn't feel overly drying on the lips and stays on all day and practically overnight! There is no transference on to cups this product is honestly amazing!
For a few weeks I have used it every day!

Book Me Before You - The most moving book I have read recently. The synopsis is:

'Lou Clark knows lots of things. She knows how many footsteps there are between the bus stop and home. She knows she likes working in The Buttered Bun tea shop and she knows she might not love her boyfriend Patrick.
What Lou doesn't know is she's about to lose her job or that knowing what's coming is what keeps her sane.
Will Traynor knows his motorcycle accident took away his desire to live. He knows everything feels very small and rather joyless now and he knows exactly how he's going to put a stop to that.
What Will doesn't know is that Lou is about to burst into his world in a riot of colour. And neither of them knows they're going to change the other for all time.'

I don't want to give too much away for those of you who have not yet read it or seen the film but this book was heartwarming and sweet. It had me laughing and crying - like I was on an emotional rollercoaster. I really connected with the main character Lou who is clumsy, sweet and always tries to do her best. A must read!

Viktor & Rolf BonBon - I have had this perfume for a while now and it has finally almost ran out. At £50 it is at the pricey end so I don't think I will be able to replace anytime soon. The scent however is so sweet but not overpowering, there are notes of amber and caramel which give it a sophisticated air mixed in with floral scents.

Those are my May favourites. Bit belated but better late than never!

Thanks for Reading!
